Judy Faulkner focuses on Epic Systems’ future in annual users group address

Epic Systems convened its annual Users Group Meeting this week, with close to 11,000 attendees filling the Deep Space auditorium to hear about Epic’s work, both in Greater Madison and around the world.

In her address, Epic CEO Judy Faulkner discussed advancements in human health, particularly big data’s role in health innovation. For example, Epic is developing a machine learning project called Cosmos that analyzes shared data to make predictions about a patient’s health. Faulkner said the company is also focused on humanitarian efforts such as working with the American University in Beirut to put the health information of Syrian refugees on thumb drives that the individuals can easily transport with them.
